Frequently Asked Questions

Can we just come for the evening sober rave?

Yes, you are so welcome to join us from 5.30pm and just pay for the evening rave event - we hope to meet you on the dance floor soon.

Is it ok to come on my own?

Absolutely, yoga retreats and sober raves are great events to come to on your own, you don't need to wait for friends to book with you.

If you've never been to a yoga retreat before, it's a very friendly space to be in. Lots of people come alone and Saira and Sam will make sure you feel comfortable right from when you arrive.

If you have any questions about joining us, just get in touch and we'll be more than happy to help.

Can we stay locally?

There are abundant beautiful places to stay locally in the idyllic village of Abbotsbury where the retreat is held and beyond.

How do I find you?

The address for the venue is: Abbey Barn, Church St, Abbotsbury, Weymouth, Dorset DT3 4JJ

Follow signs for Abbotsbury and find plenty of parking in the Village Car Park off Rodden Row (DT3 4JL). Note this is a pay car park and it costs £8 for 24 hours.

From there take a short walk on the foot path towards Abbey House Guest House and down towards Abbey Pond. You will see the barn on the other side of the pond. What3Wwords: Movements.They.Sorters.

There is no parking outside the barn due to the cafe using parking spaces for their visitors during the day. You can find spaces on the street in the village occasionally too.

There is free parking in the Abbotsbury Swannery Car Park, park in the far corner of the car park and then cut though a path back up to the lane and walk back up to the barn. Drop bags off with us at the entrance to the barn before heading down to park and we will take your belongings into the barn for you - please allow extra time.

Is there much to do in the local area?

Abbotsbury is an idyllic little village with lots to do for a weekend away. Close to the barn where our retreat is being held, there are some lovely boutique shops with local artists and crafts, Cherries Cafe for lunch or tea.

There is also Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens close by and just a few minutes drive you are at the beach.

Is sound healing suitable for everyone?

Sound healing is not suitable for anyone who is pregnant, has pacemaker or who suffers with Epilepsy. Its also advisable not to join a sound healing if you have a severe mental health issue like psychosis, schizophrenia or severe bi-polar.

Please contact us if you have any concerns about whether joining a sound healing workshop is right for you.

Do I need to bring anything?

Bring a yoga mat, loose comfy clothing and a blanket and pillow for the sound healing.

There is no heating in the barn so if the weather is cool bring layers and an extra blanket for the sound healing, but you will get warm when we dance!

My experience at Saira's retreat was amazing. I've been on several of Saira's retreats and they are all wonderful, so thoughtfully planned, down to the smallest details, to make sure that everyone feels so welcome and cared for. I would highly recommend Saira's retreats and hope to go on many more! Thank you Saira xx

Deni B

My experience on Saira's retreat was truly extraordinary. I came all the way from the US for this unique experience. Saira is a gifted facilitator and healer, and through her kind, wise and humble nature, she created safe space for a group of strangers to find connection with one another and within themselves. Great care was taken to ensure that everyone's dietary, energetic and emotional needs were honored and I felt very cared for throughout the experience. I am so grateful I made the journey!

I have just returned from a retreat run by Saira and feel like I have been restored and replenished! Everything was well planned and organised with amazing food and facilities. If you are feeling undecided about attending a retreat alone I can reassure you that you will be made to feel welcome and looked after whilst you are there. Everyone is important in Saira's eyes and she has time and space for everyone who needs her attention. She's very caring and knowledgeable in all the activities she offers so you feel safe and nurtured. You'll not be disappointed.

Catherine H

Saira is the real deal - her retreats are profound, intelligent, passionate and safe. I have been on two so far and hope to join many more!
