Wisdom of the Second Spring Yoga Day Retreat

Are you a  woman and you’re tired of the negative narrative around menopause, our ‘Second Spring’
I have a brand new day retreat for you that will inspire you into this profoundly transformative and empowering time for women.

A new story around menopause

What if menopause wasn’t something to fear, but a powerful new chapter to explore? This retreat will encourage you to turn away from the negative stories surrounding menopause and discover a more expansive, empowering perspective on this natural transition.

Is there another way?

If you’ve ever wondered whether there’s more to navigating menopause than simply managing symptoms, this day is for you. We’ll explore positive, holistic, ancestral and empowering perspectives on this profound transition into our wisdom years.

Did you know that research has shown that around the world, women who are born into cultures where there is a positive story throughout their lives about the coming of menopause will struggle less both physically and mentally during that time?

The Journey of Womanhood

A woman’s life is made up of many beautiful and sometimes challenging transitions. From puberty and fertility to childbirth, menopause and beyond, our bodies and hearts transform again and again.

For some each transition may feel easy and smooth, for, others deeply challenging, but none of us should have to navigate them alone. Let’s create a culture where women feel informed, supported and connected to one another, so that we can meet each stage with awareness, compassion and a sense of possibility.

The Light and the Dark

Menopause isn’t always easy, and this isn’t about pretending that it is. For some women, this stage can be challenging, painful and deeply emotional, bringing feelings of loss, grief or uncertainty. It can be a time of taking stock, of the life we have lived, the choices we have made, the paths we took and perhaps the paths we didn’t.

For women who haven’t had children, this can sometimes bring its own tender feelings of loss, longing and deep grief about what might have been.
There can be both light and dark, joy and sadness, endings and new beginnings

This day makes space for all of it, while gently exploring what can emerge when we begin to turn towards this next chapter.

Discover Your Second Spring

In Chinese medicine, menopause is sometimes described as the 'Second Spring', a time of renewed energy, wisdom and possibility. We’ll explore what it might mean to approach this stage with curiosity and positivity, while honouring everything that comes with such a profound transition.

Yoga, Connection & Inspiration

Throughout the day, we’ll enjoy a beautiful yoga practice alongside an inspiring workshop exploring how we can embrace the menopause years with a fresh perspective. Expect powerful ideas, meaningful conversation, connection and plenty of space to reflect.

Natural Ways to Support Yourself

Saira will be joined by our much loved local herbalist, Sarah Burt, who will share natural, affordable and practical ways to support yourself through the menopause years. You’ll come away with ideas and tools you can explore in your everyday life.

For Women of Every Age

You don’t need to be approaching menopause to join us. Perhaps you’re curious about what lies ahead and want to approach it positively, or perhaps you’re already post-menopause and wish you’d had more encouragement and support at the time. Wherever you are in your journey, you’re welcome.

My experience at Saira's retreat was amazing. I've been on several of Saira's retreats and they are all wonderful, so thoughtfully planned, down to the smallest details, to make sure that everyone feels so welcome and cared for. I would highly recommend Saira's retreats and hope to go on many more! Thank you Saira xx

My experience on Saira's retreat was truly extraordinary. I came all the way from the US for this unique experience. Saira is a gifted facilitator and healer, and through her kind, wise and humble nature, she created safe space for a group of strangers to find connection with one another and within themselves. Great care was taken to ensure that everyone's dietary, energetic and emotional needs were honored and I felt very cared for throughout the experience. I am so grateful I made the journey!

I have just returned from a retreat run by Saira and feel like I have been restored and replenished! Everything was well planned and organised with amazing food and facilities. If you are feeling undecided about attending a retreat alone I can reassure you that you will be made to feel welcome and looked after whilst you are there. Everyone is important in Saira's eyes and she has time and space for everyone who needs her attention. She's very caring and knowledgeable in all the activities she offers so you feel safe and nurtured. You'll not be disappointed.
