“No, you can’t have both.”
Fifteen years ago I was standing at a cafe counter, doing the maths in my head. My adorable three children looking up at me. One cake or one drink. Not both.
Things were always stretched back then, so that was the rule.
I was a single mum raising three young kids on my own, running my first retreat at Luccombe Farm in between school runs, laundry and the ever-present late-night panic about how to make ends meet.
There wasn’t any room, financially or emotionally.
Then fast forward to this week.
I was standing at the Condé Nast Traveller Wellness & Spa Awards. My eldest daughter beside me – now grown up, now running her own company, Grounded Socials, doing my marketing.

From choosing between a cake or a drink… To being invited to celebrate the future of global wellness by the parent company of Vogue!
But here’s the part I didn’t understand at the time.
Mellulah was never about building a business. It was about creating a life that gave me space to choose.
Back then my nervous system was always in survival. Decisions were always on me, I was holding everything together and pushing through each day.
Over the years – through day retreats across Dorset, Bath and the South West, international retreats in Portugal and Morocco.
Through incredible highs and harder seasons that stretched me – I learned that success means nothing if your body is still holding tight for the next perceived impact.
The real shift over the last 15 years wasn’t just financial. It was physical.
It was about learning how to reset and regulate in the moment. It was about following your heart and completely trusting in the universal flow.

And that’s exactly why I created Finding Peace.
On 15–17 May, I’m hosting my second intimate Nervous System Reset Retreat in Dorset for just nine guests.
This isn’t about creating an escape from your life, it’s about re-calibrating so you can re-enter your everyday with more space.
Picture this:
- A secluded country home in Warmwell.
- Seventy acres of private land.
- Wood-fired sauna beside a wild swimming lake (always optional).
- Vinyasa flow and restorative yoga.
- Vagus nerve resets.
- Sound healing with gong and crystal bowls.
- Plant-based meals.
- Phones on airplane mode.
- Space to exhale.
If you’ve been holding everything together, this retreat is your reset.
Abundance doesn’t come from awards and recognition, it’s walking into a cafe and ordering both for all your family.
And knowing your nervous system can actually enjoy it without panicking.
You can book with a £250 deposit now with your balance due in March.
There are only nine spaces and the luxury ensuite rooms will go first.
